USE OF 且 (qiě)
qiě is an adverb, it means "just and the time being, You use qiě to say that something happened a very short time ago, or is starting to happen at the present time.
EXAMPLE:
且听我。
qiĕ tīng wŏ shuō.
Just listen to me.
你且等一下。
nĭ qiĕ dĕng yīxià.
Just wait a little while.
这事且放一下。
Zhè shì qiě fàng yīxià.
Let the matter rest for the time being.
且看这幅画。
qiĕ kàn zhèfú huà.
Just look at this picture.
