里面 is used when something or someone is going or being put into another location.
RULES : 在 + place + 里面
她在里面。
tā zài lĭ miàn
She's inside.
朝箱子里面看。
cháo xiāngzi lĭmiàn kàn
Look into the box.
果汁在壶里面。
guŏzhī zài hú lĭmiàn。
The juice is in the jug.
梅子里面有核。
méizi lĭmiàn yŏu hé
Plums have stones inside.
