Conjunction 以便 (yǐbiàn)
以便” is a conjunction which is used to join two clauses. ( one of them expresses an action, the other expresses the purpose ) it means "so that or " in order to"
“以便” is used before the clause which indicates the purpose.
The clause after “以便” generally includes a modal ( like can, could, may, might, will, or would ).
Rules :
A Clause ( Action ) + 以便 + A Clause ( Purpose )
我们必须改革以便取得进步。
wŏmen bìxū găigé yĭbiàn qŭdé jìnbù
We must innovate to make progress.
植物需要氮以便制造蛋白质。
zhíwù xūyào dàn yĭbiàn zhìzào dànbáizhì
The plant requires nitrogen to make proteins.
你应该挖沟以便排水。
nĭ yīnggāi wāgōu yĭbiàn páishuĭ.
You should dig trenches to drain away from the water.
